i am changing colors
like the leaves…
claret, pale orange,
butter colored -
and falling through the
atmosphere, drifting down
through the ages
landing upside down
at the foot of a statue
standing in the commons
forgotten by children
and here are my tears
streaming on ivory faces
in all the places
that come to mind
when the skies are
filled with bare branches
and stars that shine
down on every thought
that threatens to unpin me
what can i tell you -
that i don’t feel pain
that my mind is stable
that prayers are answered
that life is fair
that a heart doesn’t break
that everything will be alright
that God is watching over us?

Lovely.
The image of the statue and the tears of ivory faces will stay with me. The questions in the last stanza will continue to haunt me.
"That threatens to unpin me...."
Magnificent imagery and depth, haunting questions, yes, haunting as is all your poetry deep inside me...
I'm so glad you're back, and so feel the absence...
Thank you, blogfriend,
Terry
Hi Kay, Hope to see you at the reception on Friday. You have been partnered with a great painter of wildlife and especially birds. I haven't seen the piece, but I bet you'll like it. There's not much of Linda Truman's work not to like.
Ann Vitale
Sharon, thank you for stopping by.
Karen, sometimes it's just what it comes down to, you know? We've had many late night discussions on existential awareness - now I'm living it.
Hi Terry, you always make me feel appreciated. Thanks, friend.
Wordsmith - Hey Ann! Great to see you here. I am HOPING to make it Friday. However, as with all things these days, I'll have to see how it goes. Many thanks! If I don't make it to the gallery, say "hello" to Aaron for me. I was looking forward to meeting him in person!
Finally! I've been waiting a long time to see some new work of yours... and it was well worth the wait :)
Bob, You always, always make my day! Thanks ever so.
You are so talented! What have you been up to?
Hi Rick, I love your new logo/profile picture. So happy you dropped in. I have been doing many things. I am trying to be more active on the local poetry scene. Recently, I have had a couple of poems published in literary magazines and won third place in a NY/NEPA regional poetry contest. I am teaching in a different school this year, so that has taken time and effort. I am currently working on getting some childrens's stories published. Soooo, that's it in a nutshell. I know you are doing very well. I keep tabs, you know! Luv, K
Hello K. It's 2012 and I want you to know that your poems have really been such an inspiration to me. Nice to know there is someone like you in the world who still lives and breathes magic. Happy New Year.
Rick, that is such a fine compliment - made all the more special, coming from such an accomplished writer! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Happy New Year, my wonderful friend!!
